Tryouts for the 2025 Hopkins High School Volleyball Program will begin on Monday, August 11th, and will be completed at noon on Wednesday, August 13th. See the exact schedule for each grade level below. If necessary, cuts will be made throughout the process, and teams will be posted by 6:00pm on the 13th.  For any questions regarding tryouts or the tryout schedule, please contact Coach Sydney at hopkinsvb.staff@gmail.com.

7th and 8th graders are permitted to try out for the High School Team; however, please honestly consider your daughter's current abilities before sending her to try out. We look forward to many years with all of our future Royals, but it's important to ensure that we have an effective tryout process for those who meet or are near this level. Placement is not guaranteed on any team just because an individual participated in tryouts.  The middle schools also have volleyball teams that begin in September for any 7th or 8th grader who doesn’t make a team.

All participants must be registered before they are allowed in the gym and must have an up-to-date physical on file.

• You MUST be registered BEFORE you can participate in tryouts - you cannot register at tryouts. You will NOT be able to try out until registration is completed.

• You need a valid, up-to-date sports physical on file before you will be permitted to participate in any tryout or practice.

SPORTS PHYSICALS

Physical Examination

Students registering for Athletics must have a current physical examination on file in the Athletics Office before the student is authorized to participate in practice/tryouts. To ensure clearance for participation, physicals should be completed and turned in to the Athletics Office no later than 3 school days prior to the first day of practice/tryouts.

 

Sports Physicals are valid for 3 years from the date of last exam.

HIGH SCHOOL TRYOUT SCHEDULE

• 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM: First Tryout Session for Grades 7 - 9.  You MUST be registered and have a physical completed before you may try out!

• 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM: First Tryout Session for Grades 10 - 12. You MUST be registered and have a physical completed before you may try out!

• 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM: All grades

 

Wednesday, August 13th

• 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Final Tryout Session for All Grades Trying Out 

• TEAMS ANNOUNCED BY 6:00 PM (with cuts or manager positions noted)

Thursday, August 14th

• 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Uniform handout, team bonding, coach‑player intro meetings, first practice

Friday, August 15th

• 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Team bonding, media session (10–11), practice until noon
